Tax Breaks for Data Centers = Biggest Corporate Giveaways
One of the primary reasons for the proliferation of data centers in Kansas right now is the passing of Senate Bill 98 back in 2025 which gave hyperscale developers in the state a significant tax exemption.
The problem is that we’ve already seen how these tax breaks play out in other states, and the results have not been pretty for the local governments or citizens. In fact, Pennsylvania just voted to repeal their statewide data center tax exemption based on the huge amounts of revenue the state was losing. Let’s get Kansas to do the same!
