These data centers can put out 96 to 105 decibels, and that goes on 24/7. As a former first grade teacher for thirteen years… I cannot imagine what that would be like to be in the classroom and have this constant hum. That noise has also been known to create anxiety and sleep trouble and hypertension.

I speak for over 700 children and their families at these two schools, Pauline South and Pauline Central., that will be impacted within a 2 mile radius of the proposed data center.

Just outside the Topeka City limits, something is coming that will change the face of our community forever. Compass Datacenters has proposed a hyperscale less than 1 mile away from an elementary school in Montara.

This massive facility will use the equivalent power necessary to run 45,000 homes and will increase air pollution, water pollution, and increase the temperature of the surrounding area.

“We already cannot afford to spend $200-$300 monthly on water alone here in Montara. What happens when we also compete with a data center?”
