Compass Claims to be Operating in Communities for “Decades”

BUT WE THOUGHT COMPASS DATACENTERS WAS A CLASS-A DEVELOPER WHO WILL STAY IN YOUR COMMUNITY FOR DECADES?

So why don’t they want to take responsibility for the facilities they’ve already built?

Compass lists all kinds of ways that their data centers could be used, but they forget to mention surveillance. Conveniently. Is this really “the same business” we want them to bring to Shawnee County? This is just one reason why knowing the ultimate tenant of the building is so important.

Their SVP of Land Development says “we own, operate every campus we build. We design what we call a hundred year campus.” Why do their 3 Israeli facilities not carry this same guarantee? Why is Compass suddenly not responsible?

He also says they “don’t buy land and entitlements to resell them,” but they sold off those 3 facilities in 2025.

Don’t worry, he says: “we expect to be operating in Topeka for decades.”

The people of Shawnee County say NO.

Just like the good people of Red Oak, Texas who have been dealing with Compass for years and have yet another site proposed there. Their struggle was featured on 60 Minutes here.

You have one guess as to who declined an interview for the 60 Minutes segment about them. It definitely wouldn’t be the company who has refused to talk to any of our local news in Topeka….
